Securing an Internship

The IEP Bridging Program has aligned with Career Edge, a social enterprise that helps candidates "launch their careers by partnering with businesses to develop or enhance their diversity recruitment and inclusion strategies."

Current students who have completed their 3 foundation courses are welcome to register for Career Edge and apply for a variety of paid internship opportunities.  In fact, there are job postings set aside specifically for IEPs! (In Career Edge's lingo, they are known as IQPs, or "Internationally Qualified Professionals"). Each intern qualifies for a monthly stipend of at least $2275, less applicable taxes.

This is an opportunity to gain Canadian work experience, expand your network, acquire a professional reference, and increase your ability to get a job. If you prove your abilities, employers may even wish to hire you! So, internships are always a great means of getting your feet in the door.
