York University's Bridging Programs for Internationally Educated Professionals (IEPs) support IEPs to transition with confidence into a job in their professional field in Canada.
Students complete foundation courses created exclusively for IEPs that focus on developing their Canadian professional communication, leadership, IT or management skills. Participants can also take a selection of specialized courses in their professional field. Certificate students have the opportunity to gain a new credential from a Canadian University and courses towards professional accreditation.
While in the program students access career coaching, networking and develop an action plan that is tailored to their individual skills development and career path. The program works with employers, career and employment services, not-for-profits, professional associations and accreditation bodies to help IEPs access events, mentoring and supports to assist them in achieving a position that matches their education, credentials and experience. Over the last decade over 700 candidates from 65+ countries have joined the program, and many continue to share their success and experience with new students.
Our Certificate Programs are funded by the Ontario government and starting in Summer 2020 our new Bridge to Employment IEP Foundations Program for newcomers will be launched, and is funded by Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada.
